About the talk

What it covers

With microservices came a lot of talk about reactive programming and event-driven architecture, and event sourcing is often described as a pattern for distributed systems. In practice, the difference between the two is rarely clear.

I use concrete examples to show the benefits of both, and strategies of choreography and orchestration. Then the points that need care: distributed transactions, tracing and event versioning. Volunteers from the audience play the actors of restaurants around the world, so the difference is felt, not just explained.
